One of Britain’s great singer songwriters, Joan Armatrading recently celebrated 50 years in music with the release of her album Live at Asylum Chapel. Very special guest Joan Armatrading will join this incredible line-up for the final Teenage Cancer Trust gig in 2023. They recently unveiled their debut track ‘Let’s Turn This Back Around’, with their captivatingly fresh album to be released early this summer. The band first experimented with playing music together on tour - merging their influences, they created a fervent mix of Americana, folk, rock and country which very naturally complemented the alchemy and beautiful harmonies crafted by the two vocalists. This special show at The Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust will be their first ever live performance. Ashcroft has supported Teenage Cancer Trust many times over the years, including an iconic performance with Paul Weller in 2003, and an electric headline show in 2021.įar From Saints is the brand new band formed by Kelly Jones of Stereophonics, with Patty Lynn and Dwight Baker from The Wind and The Wave. I've seen Daltrey's solo tours and they are phenomenal. And while I don't necessarily fangirl over Plant, I am kinda curious to meet him.if he's up for meet & greets, that is. If they do consider such a tour, this silly social distancing pandemic crap will hopefully be over and it will include meet & greet packages - my personal favourite part of any Daltrey tour. The frontmen are and always have been very good friends, so they would work marvelously on a joint tour. Plant has also performed at many a Teenage Cancer Trust event, and with Daltrey as part of the RD Crusaders charity supergroup. In 2002, Plant opened for the Who on tour, and I think both bands may have headlined together in the late 60s. With their flowing blond locks, spectacular profiles, incredible vocals, fit physiques & undeniable stage presences, it's no wonder they should at least consider a joint tour. Both from the most legendary bands in British Rock - The Who and Led Zeppelin.
